Stolen Items from King Tut's Tomb Finally Find Their Way Home

A total of 19 missing items from King Tut's tomb were finally returned to the government of Egypt. The tomb itself was discovered by Howard Carter in the 1920s. While waiting for Egyptian authorities to arrive, he pocketed and stored many small-scale items from the tomb. Generally, authorities would allow archaeologists to hold onto some items from the site being excavated, but in this particular situation, no such agreement was made, especially considering the significance of the site. Carter sold these items to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Such items discovered include a broad collar with many beads, a handle, a bronze dog, and a lapis-lazuli sphinx.

The question is, "Who do these relics belong to"? After a heavy investigation, experts from the Met concluded that these items did, in fact, originate from King Tut's tomb, and therefore rightfully belong in Egypt.
